Why select SLIIT

As a SLIIT student (<<>>), I thought of writing to the newcoming batch of 2010 about what are the basics you should know about SLIIT, its graduation process, the culture and procedure of it etc.

I think SLIIT can be classified as an institution where middle class society and the people who missed the university entrance of Sri Lanka could earn a degree at a comparing low cost. Comparing to the costs that abroad universities are pricing, you can earn a similar kind of degree in Sri Lanka and with a reasonable price you can get the degree from Curtin University, Australia in SLIIT. I think that's why Sri Lankans (even foreign students) should consider to select SLIIT for their degrees.

In SLIIT, people can meet many people with different kinds of attitudes. some with good hopes and some with the opposite of it. Actually nothing this matters if you're very focused on your studies. In Metropolitan Campus you basically meet students from Colombo and suburbs and in Malabe most of the students are come from other areas of Sri Lanka. Most of the students in Malabe campus are staying at boarding houses nearby.

There are pros and cons about both these campuses. One pro about Metro campus is its location, situated in the heart of colombo inside the high security zone of Temple Trees, Its only 5 floors of BOC Metropolitan Tower. You don't have to worry a bit about good transportation or security. Con about Metro is that its limited capacity of common area. So students here may feel like kind of trapped in a cage. Now we'll focused at Malable Campus. Situated in a scenaric area in Malabe, in new Kandy Road, Malabe campus has a wide area to stay, be socialze. Malabe campus is a ideal place for a campus life but it has some small problems like trasportation.

Of course SLIIT also have 2 centres in Matara and Kandy. So New People coming to SLIIT, its the choice of yours to select your campus to study.

Don't forget to comment on your chocies and ideas.

All the best for your campus life...
